A native Houstonian, Matthew attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and graduated in 2013. After graduating, Matthew spent a year at the University of Texas San Antonio, then transferred to UT Austin with a degree in psychology and a minor in business. Matthew previously volunteered with children with cancer at Camp Star Trails for seven years. Following graduation, he worked as a registered behavioral therapist with autistic children.
Matthew comes from a large Italian family and has recently married his wife Katie. He also has a chocolate lab and a golden retriever at home. When Matthew is not teaching, he continues to volunteer at Camp Star Trails, reading, rock climbing, soccer, wakeboarding, volleyball, movies, video games, and spending time with his chocolate lab and golden retriever. Matthew and his wife are planning a trip to Japan, once travelling restrictions are lifted.
